Genre conventions depend on the music, by their stage performance and lyrics.

Pop conventions- Ariana Grande

• Bright and bold colours and font.
• Eye catching outfits from iconic brands.
• Often they are choreographed dance routine or a narrative storyline that connotes the lyrics.
• The music is often upbeat.

RnB conventions- Chris Brown

• The conventions for RnB are similar to the Pop convention, how they're presented with bright eye-catching fonts.
• They dress in expensive clothing, including items like gold chains and designer jackets and trainers.
• The settings of RnB music videos are often in night clubs, beaches or mansions, its all show off their wealth.
• They often include beautiful women in their music videos in provocative outfits which highlight their lyrics.

Rock conventions- Green Day

• Conventions for Rock music often consist of dark colours and gothic fonts on their covers.
• Makeup is used to make them appear gothic and more edgy.
• A lot of their music videos are set on stage and are performing with all their music instruments. The electric guitar is a stereo type for the rock genre.

• These music videos tend to vary conventions, with their music videos, whether they're in in black and white like this arctic monkeys video or and bright and colourful.
• Their music videos are often narrative and they make their setting their focal point by sometimes not even appearing in the video.
